Mark Fallone was born in Western PA and raised near Vandergrift Pennsylvania. After graduating from Gannon University in Erie, PA with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Communication-Arts, Mark moved to Nashville, TN to begin his formal career in broadcast television working for WKRN-TV (ABC). In 1984, Mark returned to Pittsburgh where he worked for WTAE-TV (ABC) as a news videographer and programming/production videographer. In 1995, Mark joined New Perspective Productions as a Director-Producer and eventually became VP of Programming and Development in 2003 for the Pittsburgh-based media production firm located in Pittsburgh’s colorful Strip District. Although Pittsburgh, The Strip District and its three rivers have served as inspiration for much of Mark’s work as a director-cinematographer, in 2009 Mark turned his digital still camera on the city and region and began work on his first fine art photographic series- FROM MY CAR: Pittsburgh. The series, images safely shot from behind the wheel of his vehicle, capture Pittsburgh from vantage points seldom seen in traditional photography of the city. Today, Mark lives in North Huntingdon with his wife, Jill, son Nicholas, daughter Molly and their photogenic cat, Geno. Each day, his one-hour and ten-minute commute to and from work provide plenty of time to capture the nuances of Pittsburgh in compelling images. The Sewickley Gallery April/May 2010 show will be Mark’s first professional photography show. He continues to pay the bills as a television Director but is hard at work on the book version of FROM MY CAR: Pittsburgh. Mark is leaving the car for a while as he begins work on a new series that looks at the places and neighborhoods we call home, WHERE WE LIVE: Pittsburgh. |
