Richard Snodgrass was born and raised in Beaver Falls, PA. After attending St. Vincent’s College and the University of Detroit, he lived in San Francisco, CA where he graduated with a B.A. in English from the University of California, Berkeley, and an M.F.A. in Photography from the California College of Arts and Crafts. He was a long-time student of master photographer Oliver Gagliani, and served as teaching assistant at Gagliani’s renowned Virginia City Workshops, specializing in large camera formats and the Zone System. In 1980, Richard returned to Pittsburgh where he lives today with his wife, Marty, and Tim the Cat. Richard’s photographs are in private and museum collections across the country.
